Data deletion

Disconnect and deletion will be part of the connected service.

The public site currently stores no connected financial records. Before a private live trial begins, Clearworth will provide an owner-controlled process for disconnecting Plaid connections and deleting associated data.

Current state

There is presently no Clearworth user account, Plaid Item, access token, balance, transaction, investment, liability, or credit-score record to delete from the public site.

Required behavior for live connections

  1. The signed-in owner chooses the exact institution to disconnect.
  2. The server requests removal of that exact Plaid Item.
  3. The associated access token is invalidated.
  4. Locally stored raw and derived financial information is deleted.
  5. A minimal deletion receipt records the result without preserving the deleted financial payload.

Removal must not silently affect a different institution, and deletion failures must be reported rather than represented as completed.

What deletion will cover

Deletion for a connected institution will cover its Plaid access token, connection and account records, balances, transactions, holdings, liabilities, cached responses, and Clearworth-derived summaries. A separately supplied credit-score history will have its own deletion control.

How to request help

Until the private application and its verified support channel are active, use the owner contact supplied in the corresponding Plaid application. Do not send bank credentials, Plaid tokens, account numbers, or financial statements by email.
